Malone Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center

When Citizen Advocates opened its first 24/7 mental health and addiction treatment clinic in 2017, it was the first of its kind in the region.

Referred to as a crisis and recovery center, it was born out of a recognition that a behavioral health emergency didn’t always happen during normal business hours. Being open at all hours, on weekends and holidays, meant that community members had immediate access to lifesaving treatment.

By providing the right care in the right place at the right time, Citizen Advocates was transforming how it met the mental health and addiction treatment needs of the community—so much so, a larger space to meet the emerging needs of the community was needed.

So, in the summer of 2022, a ceremony was held to break ground for the new home of 24/7 mental health and addiction services in Malone, marking the newest chapter in Citizen Advocates’ transformational approach to leading-edge, high-quality care. It would also have a new name, Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center, which reflected Citizen Advocates’ ever-evolving and improving approach to care delivery in northern New York.

Watertown Behavioral Health Campus

When Citizen Advocates broke ground for its newest outpatient Behavioral Health Campus in Watertown, the ceremony was a celebration of two important milestones.
